When you select a payment provider for sending an international bank transfer it is very important to know whether the owner of the bank account is an individual or a legal entity (check all bank conditions here).
Another essential factor to consider is the customer fees, charged by EasyPay's international partners. You can easily compare the different tariffs by using our Fee Calculator.

A bill payment, which was successfully completed and confirmed, can be canceled on the same day and only if the respective utility company allows this option.
Providing a valid phone number to EasyPay | FexoPay employees is important because:
Fraud with the issuance of documents for work abroad - In the Internet space, we often come across advertisements or intrusive clips which еxplain to us that the process of issuing documents for work abroad is complicated and time-consuming. For our convenience, we can contact via chat or phone a person who informs us that he is aware of the procedure and can assist us, but for this purpose we should transfer a considerable amount to an account abroad, most often in Revolut. Initially, a fee is required, which is to start the procedure. A second tranche is then requested for document review. If the scammer thinks we're willing to provide more money, additional reasons are concocted, each one looking less and less credible. Naturally, once we stop sending transactions, we will never be able to contact this person again, and we realize that we are the victim of fraud.
Bad Credit Erasure Scam – In times of financial and social instability, this type of scam is prevalent. With it, through an advertisement on the Internet, we contact a person (unknown to us), who informs us that he can delete a bad credit history in the Central Credit Register before the statutory deadline has passed. It is explained to us that the responsibility for carrying out such an activity is huge, the task is difficult and due to these circumstances the amount that we have to transfer to an account abroad starts from several hundred Euros. After we make the transaction, the person we communicate with evaluates whether we are willing to transfer a second tranche and starts to make up a story in which additional tasks have appeared that we should pay. The moment we refuse to send more money, the relationship with the scammer ends, and the deposited funds remain non-refundable.
How do the scammers work?
Frauds can reach significant scales and sometimes the loss of a certain amount of money is the least of what might happen to you. Investments with suspiciously high interest rates, as well as trades with extremely low prices, should be investigated in details before involving yourself in a risky financial situation.
Scammers aim to gain your trust by creating a sense of urgency and asking for a lot of personal and financial information. They use various schemes such as special offers on how to make easy money, to obtain a bank loan, to clear your credit history, to do a job for a large sum, or with promises for quick profits. Be cautious even when offered an employment contract with a salary. If you sign it, you may be held responsible for money laundering or for illegal financing.
What to do if you are a victim of scam?
Before sending money to an unknown person, verify the authenticity of the receiver and the purpose of the transfer. Be especially careful when you are required to provide personal data or funds to a receiver whose identity you are not sure of!
If you have any doubts, contact us immediately. We will assist you and do anything possible to protect your money!
IMPORTANT! If you have already sent money and you have any doubts about the receiver's intentions, the accuracy of the information provided, or anything else, take immediate actions for blocking the transfer if possible. Go to the FexoPay/ EasyPay office where you have sent the transfer, share your concerns about possible fraud with the cashier and we will try to stop its payout.
* The scam examples provided in the next section are real cases but do not include all types of frauds. It would be impossible for us to provide the full list of existing scams, so we ask you to be careful!
Identity Scam – Schemes, in which one person uses someone else’s personal data without his consent and permission in order to obtain benefits at the expense of the person in question (for example, withdrawing a loan with stolen personal data, while the loan payments remain for the person whose data was used).
Loan Scam – Scammers contact their victims by phone, e-mail or social media and offer them a loan or a credit. They may indicate that they are registered or licensed in a different country and for a greater credibility their phone number may begin with the relevant country code. In case the customer agrees to take out the credit, he is asked to make an advance payment for processing the documents or for granting the loan itself.
Rental Scam – Scammers rent a property in order to offer it to potential tenants. They collect in advance two monthly rents from each tenant (for the first and the last month), security deposits and other fees or payment guarantees and they leave the territory with the "profit".
Lottery Scam – This scheme begins with an unexpected notice by e-mail, phone or social media, that you have won the lottery. There is one condition mentioned - you should pay some fees before taking the prize. Please have in mind that there is no lottery that requires the winner to cover the costs!
Inheritance Scam – News for an inherited property in an African country is received by e-mail. There is an explanation that in order to acquire the property, all documents must be prepared by a local lawyer and you are asked to send money for covering his fees. Do not trust this news - it's a scam!
“Relative in danger” Scam – The scammer may call you presenting himself as a close relative or a friend of yours who is in danger. He is usually stating that a big amount of money should be sent immediately and the cash is needed urgently in order to pay in hospital, to get out of jail, to leave a foreign country or other reasons. The aim is the victim to send or deliver the funds as quickly as possible before realizing that it’s a scam.
Charity Scam – This scheme is used to obtain remittances from individuals who believe they are making donations to charities. The scammer or a group of such connected persons disseminate through various channels information about their charitable activities and “solicit” donors for contributions to a non-existent charity.
Phishing Attack – It covers cases where through fake websites confidential information is being obtained:
- ID copies or other personal data;
- financial data from credit or debit cards;
- access to user profiles or Internet banking;
- copies of money transfer receipts or payment codes;
- PIN codes for international money transfer payouts, etc.
Phishing is carried out by sending fake e-mails to the victim by imitating trusted sources – e.g. a financial institution, a transfer status webpage, order tracking courier site, etc. By clicking on the confirmation button, the retrieving the above mentioned confidential data is being executed, which is then used for illegal financial schemes.
Vishing (voice phishing) / Smishing (sms phishing) - In this type of scam, contacts with the victim are conducted via phone calls or text messages. You may receive information that your account was compromised and as a next step you are asked to provide confidential information about money transfers - personal data, transfer codes, passwords, etc.
Online Shopping Scam – The purchased goods from a suspicious site either do not arrive at all or arrive but turn out to be low-quality replicas. Indicators that a website might be fake include the chosen payment methods, no contacts with the seller, as well as the negative reviews on the Internet.
Car Purchase Scam – If you intend to buy a cheap car from abroad, be alert. Money transfers range from 1000 to 5000 EUR and are sent after arrangements on a website, to book a specific car before its purchase. Communication is primarily done via e-mail or Viber, which should raise your suspicion about the deal's authenticity.
The payer is advised to send money to a relative, a friend or to himself in the respective country (usually UK, Germany or elsewhere in Europe). Then, he is required to hide the PIN number of the transfer and take a photo of the receipt as a "proof of payment" before the booking. The victim receives a fake e-mail in which he is prompted to check if the transfer "has already reached the country." By clicking on the provided Internet link, the customer is redirected to a fake website where he should enter the full name and PIN number of the transfer so that the "Receiver" gets all the necessary information. The scammer makes a fake ID with the recipient's name and withdraws the money within a few hours.
Telemarketing Scam – This scam is conducted through automatic phone calls or by talking to a consultant from a telemarketing company. The customer is being offered a special discount or a present, which is valid only now and he is pressured to make a quick purchase with an advance payment before the conversation ends. There are also scams that do not involve selling of real products but services.
Online Dating Scam – Internet dating, which develops into a romantic relationship (most often women are target of such scam). The scammer who presents himself as an American soldier or a widower, keeps in close contact with the victim and after a certain period of communication he starts asking for money with various reasons – to buy a flight ticket to Bulgaria, to prepare for the wedding, for urgent expenses or medical assistance, etc. After receiving the funds, the person disappears.
Blackmail – A social media acquaintance quickly turns into a passionate romance where the participants start to trust each other. Soon, indecent photos are being exchanged, which are then used to extort a large amount of money from the victim.
Do not share personal data and images with people whose identity is not verified! If you have already done so, cease all contacts with this person and report the incident to the police, because if you send money even once, the scammer won't stop demanding.
Hacked Profile / Computer – You receive an e-mail from an unknown sender saying that your profile or computer was hacked, your passwords and contacts have been stolen, the access to the camera and the microphone are controlled and all your actions are being recorded. DO NOT send money as these e-mails are fake! Contact immediately the police and the e-mail service provider for additional security.
Virtual Kidnapping – Victims are urged to pay a ransom quickly for the release of a close person under the threat of violence or murder. Unlike the real kidnapping, here no one has been actually abducted. The scammers are relying on the immediate fear and actions before the scheme is being exposed.
"Nigerian letter" Scam – In this type of scam, a person receives an e-mail, containing information that he has inherited a large amount of money (e.g., $1,000,000). The text explains that in order to receive the funds, the receiver must first send a money transfer to Nigeria, Ghana, or another African country.
Fake Job Ads – This scam starts with receiving a notification that you were approved for a certain position in a company, but you need to send money in advance to cover the taxes or pay for the overall process. It's important to note that reputable employers never use such an approach!
Crypto Investment Scam – This scam happens mainly via Telegram, Viber or WhatsApp. The scammer usually presents himself as a legitimate investment broker (he may claims to be a manager of a well-known company or to use the identity of a famous person). The scammer promises you significant profits if you follow his advice and recommendations on how to invest in cryptocurrency without any risk. Upon your confirmation, he assists you in registering on a fake investment platform and in setting up your personal e-Wallet. The next step is to ask you to send a money transfer to activate your account and to start profiting from cryptocurrency. In a short period of time, a large amount of money appears in your account, but when you try to withdraw your earnings, you are asked to make a new investment payment or to pay an additional fee "to unlock the funds" or "to pay 10% profit tax" or for some other reasons. If you refuse to pay the amount, the communication stops immediately and the scammer disappears along with all your funds. Soon after that, the fake cryptocurrency investment platform also disappears from the Internet.
IMPORTANT! Please note that in addition to the above examples for financial abuse, there are many others. Our aim is to inform you about the potential risks and to remind you - be cautious!
BASIC RULES:
1. Don't rush! - Scams are often designed to create a sense of urgency. Take your time to ask questions and consider your decision.
2. Check the facts! - Make a research to verify the information you've received and to check if what you're being told sounds logical.
3. Don't send money! - There is no trustworthy person or organization that will ask for a payment on the spot. Never send money to someone you don't know in person!
Do not transfer money for any of the following reasons:
• For an urgent/emergency situation that you haven't confirmed;
• For a commercial purchase;
• For a loan release fee, insurance, or issuance of a bank card;
• To confirm receipt of lottery winnings or another cash prize;
• To purchase antivirus protection;
• For a property deposit;
• For applying and accepting a new job;
• For acting as a secret shopper or resolving immigration issue.
If the person you're considering to send money to is not a relative or a close friend, ask yourself the following questions to ensure you're making the right decision:
• Do I know the person I'm sending money to? - If not, is it reasonable to do so? If yes, may I trust him?
• Is it appropriate to share confidential information with this person?
• Is this offer too good to be true?
• Do I really need to transfer the money? - If yes, what would be the consequences?
• Why is the receiver insisting on sending the amount quickly and creating a sense of urgency?
• What is the reason for all this secrecy and requests for confidentiality?
IMPORTANT! Information and its accuracy is the key to secure money transfers!
Act responsibly, especially when required to provide personal data and money to a receiver whose identity you are not sure of.
Do not provide personal or financial information over the phone, by e-mail, or via social media to unknown sources.
Be careful when receiving unexpected messages or calls that pressure you to make payments urgently.
Be suspicious to offers for quick and easy ways to make money that require some form of investments or upfront fees.
Avoid deals that require advance payments, financial guarantees and photos of payment documents or receipts.
Use secure passwords and update them regularly to prevent illegal access to your finances. Keep your personal data and passwords secret!
